The vision and practice of BraveSpace® is a culture of shared respect and love for the divine wisdom that we individually and collectively embody. We move, feel, dance, breathe, touch, and vibrate in somatic ecstatic prayer. 

Somatics is the field of movement and awareness that manifests through presence with embodied experience. The ecstatic state translates from the Greek “ekstasis” as “standing outside oneself,” transported beyond normal consciousness. Somatic ecstatic union meets inner and outer—self, other, and spirit—in the profound, meaningful realization of connectedness. We hold BraveSpace® by setting conditions safe enough to take the risk of being authentic and vulnerable in our bodies so that we may commune in our shared divinity and belonging. As we learn to facilitate this state within ourselves, we become more adept at sharing it with others.

About Matthew:
Matthew Nelson is a somatic therapist, dancer, and facilitator helping people connect to the divine intelligence of their bodies through movement and awareness.  His transformative approach honors the sanctity of the individual while furthering community--recognizing that nobody creates or heals their sacred wounds alone.  Matthew has an MFA in dance, certificates in massage, Pilates, and Laban Movement Analysis, is a Mystery School initiate, and has 25 years’ experience in the somatic field.
