147 Community Meetup
Small Language Models are becoming an important part of practical AI because they can be more efficient, faster, and easier to deploy for focused use cases, especially in edge environments where compute, latency, and privacy constraints matter.
In this community meetup, we will go beyond the basics and explore practical fine-tuning using QLoRA-based SFT, leveraging tools like Unsloth and a base model such as Liquid AI LFM2.5 1.2B.
The session will cover why SLMs matter, how to efficiently fine-tune them with minimal resources, and how they can be adapted for real-world and edge-driven applications. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the end-to-end process, from working with pre-trained models to customizing and deploying them on local or resource-constrained systems.
