Grain Advocate and Bread Teacher

I am a longtime food writer who made my way to bread baking. Now, I sit at the computer all day in my kitchen with a bowl of rising dough at my side. I specialize in naturally leavened bread (sometimes called sourdough) and have spent the last several years diving deep into the history of flour, as well as traveling the country (and many other parts of the world) to tour flour mills. I am excited to share this knowledge with you! I gathered my most beloved home bread recipes in her debut book, Mama Bread. I am currently writing the history of bread in fiction, and I blog about my baking adventures at www.thousandbitesofbread.com. You can also follow my grain and baking forays at @1000bitesofbread on Instagram.
