Baby Scratch:
The Baby scratch is the most basic and fundamental scratch technique in DJing, making it an essential starting point for any beginner. It involves moving the record back and forth without using the crossfader. This simple motion is the foundation for many other scratch techniques and helps DJs develop a feel for controlling the vinyl.

How to Perform a Baby Scratch:
    1.	Set Up: Place your hand lightly on the record or your controller jog and position the sample at the start of a sound.
	2.	Motion: Gently push the record forward, then pull it back to its original position. Repeat this motion in a rhythmic manner.
	3.	Control: Focus on making smooth, even movements. The goal is to create a consistent “scratch” sound without skipping or jumping.

Chirp Scratch:

The Chirp Scratch is a fundamental scratch technique that adds a distinctive, sharp sound to your DJing repertoire. It combines the Baby scratch with the use of the crossfader, creating a “chirping” sound that is both rhythmic and precise.

How to Perform a Chirp Scratch:
     1.	Set Up: Place your hand lightly on the record and position the sample at the start of a sound. Set your crossfader to cut off the sound (usually to the left side if you’re using the right deck and vice versa).
	2.	Forward Motion: Push the record forward while simultaneously opening the crossfader to let the sound play.
	3.	Cut the Sound: As soon as you hear the sound, quickly close the crossfader to cut it off.
	4.	Backward Motion: Pull the record back to its original position while keeping the crossfader closed.
	5.	Repeat: Repeat these steps in a rhythmic manner to create a continuous chirping effect.

Stab Scratch:
The Stab Scratch is a dynamic DJ technique that involves creating short, punctuated sounds using the crossfader and record manipulation. It’s characterized by its sharp, percussive effect, adding rhythmic accents to mixes.

How to Perform a Stab Scratch:
    1.	Setup: Place your hand lightly on the record and position the sample at the start of a sound. Set your crossfader to cut off the sound (typically to the opposite side of where you’ll start).
	2.	Forward Motion: Push the record forward while simultaneously opening the crossfader slightly to allow a brief sound to play.
	3.	Stabbing Motion: Quickly close the crossfader after the initial sound is heard, creating a distinct “stabbing” effect.
	4.	Backward Motion: Pull the record back to its original position while keeping the crossfader closed to prepare for the next Stab.
	5.	Repeat: Practice these steps rhythmically to create a continuous sequence of Stab sounds.

Transformer Scratch:
The Transformer scratch is a versatile and rhythmic DJ technique that involves rapid, rhythmic movements of the crossfader combined with quick back-and-forth movements of the record. It’s named after the sound it produces, resembling the electronic “transformer” effect.

How to Perform a Transformer Scratch:
    1.	Setup: Place your hand lightly on the record and position the sample at the beginning of a sound. Set your crossfader to cut off the sound (typically to the opposite side of where you’ll start).
	2.	Forward Motion: Push the record forward while rapidly opening and closing the crossfader in quick succession. Each movement should be short and precise, creating a stuttering effect.
	3.	Backward Motion: Pull the record back to its original position while continuing to perform the rapid open-close movements of the crossfader.
	4.	Repeat: Practice these rapid movements in a rhythmic pattern to create a continuous “transformer” sound effect.
