Travesty as Dr Mike Mew is Struck Off by UK GDC on Ideological Grounds

We are sorry for the radio silence but we have been exceedingly busy working with Mike as he has faced the final verdict of the GDC's Professional Conduct Committees (PCC).

After 7 years of investigation and 9 weeks of hearings over two and half years (making it probably the longest and most expensive tribunal in British medical history), the PCC failed to find any evidence of dishonesty or meaningful harm. Instead, it made a finding of fact with far-reaching implications. Its premise was that there is no adequate objective evidence to support the argument that there is a significant environmental factor involved in the aetiology (or cause) of malocclusion.

If you accept it’s finding of fact, then it was inevitable that all charges would be proven against Mike as it would be improper to suggest a treatment to a child that has no adequate objective evidence underpinning it. Conversely, if you do not accept it’s finding of fact, then few if any of the charges against Mike would have been proven.
