Description

My Journey of Overcoming Depression and Anxiety At Glowing Beyond, we believe that Mental Health Awareness Month is a time to shine a light on the struggles many of us face but may feel too afraid to speak about. It’s a reminder that mental health is just as important as physical health, and seeking help is a sign of strength. My personal journey with mental health hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced both depression and anxiety head-on. There were days when it felt like I was drowning in my thoughts, unable to find a way out of the darkness. Anxiety would hold me captive, while depression drained the joy out of my life. It took a lot of inner work—years of learning how to accept myself, heal old wounds, and reframe my thinking. Through therapy, mindset coaching, and embracing holistic practices, I began to dismantle the limiting beliefs that kept me trapped. I had to come to terms with my imperfections and understand that I am enough, just as I am. This self-acceptance wasn’t instant, but it was transformative. Now, I use the lessons I’ve learned to help others who may feel the same weight of anxiety or depression. I want you to know that healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone. As part of supporting your journey, here are Calgary-based mental health resources to help you access local support. You can download them here: [Download Calgary Mental Health Resources PDF] Remember, taking that first step toward healing is the hardest part, but it’s also the most important one. Let’s break the silence around mental health together, and build a community that supports, uplifts, and empowers.
