We’re heading to Kew Gardens for Orchids After Hours at the Princess of Wales Conservatory and it’s giving: tropical paradise after dark 🌿🌙

Expect beautifully lit orchid displays, warm steamy glasshouse air (instant winter glow-up 😮‍💨), plus live performances, music and talks included in the ticket price 🎶🎭. This year’s theme is China, so think vibrant colours, atmosphere, and plenty of “wait… this is STUNNING” moments 📸✨

There’ll also be food + cocktails available to buy, and an orchids-inspired shop if you fancy a little treat (or a new personality in plant form) 🛍️🌸.

No, this one is ticketed (it’s a special after-hours event). Your ticket includes performances and talks. Food and drinks are extra. Grab you tickets with the links above.

2) Is it really 18+ only? 🔞

Yes, it’s adults only (18+). Bring ID if you think you might be asked.

3) Where exactly are we meeting? 📍

Outside Kew Gardens Station at 7:00pm. We’ll head in together from there.

4) Which entrance do we use? 🚪

Kew notes entry via Jodrell Gate (Kew Road) for Orchids After Hours. We’ll walk over as a group.

5) What if I’m running late? 🏃‍♂️💨

Message the host ASAP. Also note: Kew lists last entry at 9pm, so you’ll want to arrive before then.

6) What should I wear? 👗🧥

Dress for two climates: chilly outside ❄️ + warm, humid conservatory 🌡️🌿

✅ Layers you can peel off

✅ Comfy shoes (you’ll be standing/wandering)

✅ Light jacket for the journey home

7) Will there be food and drinks? 🍜🍸

Yes! You’ll have the chance to buy food and cocktails during the event (sold separately).

8) Is it accessible? ♿

Kew has accessibility info and maps, and the gardens are generally well set up for step-free routes. Also worth noting: Kew Gardens Station doesn’t have level access from the westbound platform, but you can go one stop to Richmond and come back to use the eastbound platform if needed.

9) Can I take photos? 📸

Yes, photos are part of the fun. Just be mindful of other visitors and any “no flash / no filming” guidance around performances.

10) Are we definitely doing a pub after? 🍻

Yes! We’ll head to a nearby pub for a post-orchids pint/debrief. If it’s busy, we’ll pick the closest option with space on the night.
