When one member of the community succeeds, the others may learn and succeed as well. We shall cultivate a positive, nurturing and life-giving community always.

Discover how you are able to engage with your adolescents better! You'll be surprised how easy connecting with them can be.

You're Gonna Learn: (1) To Connect takes flexibility - The language of youth is fluidity. The language of adult is rigidity. When parents can learn how to be flexible with their teens, they will find that teens can connect with them very easily. (2) Novelty always sticks well - When it happens once, it is a novelty; when it happens again, it is a reminder; anything comes after that is a nag. When the novelty is positive, it sticks. When it is negative, it is repulsive. (3) Right only with positives - To right the wrong, parents punish the wrong, hoping the right prevails. The right only prevails when it is positively told it is right. Write in minds and hearts of teens what is right always.

The information is presented and written in a simple manner, and it may even look simplistic, however, the application is not simple and not impossible either. If you have attended one of our sessions or consults, you would have experienced how the information is applied. You are encouraged to seek a consult if you have not attended. We bear no responsibilities if the information presented in the ebook was applied in an unguided manner. It would also be unlikely that knowing this information will immediately enable you to engage adolescents well. You will learn that the “clash of the mind and heart” happens over a period of at least 10 years. Perseverance and lots of care are required. Continued reading and practice in engaging the “mind and heart” would be necessary as well. Sometimes, seeking the help from professional youth workers, social workers and mental health practitioners proved to be useful. There is a saying in youth work, “it takes a village to raise a child”.
