About Challenge

ABOUT CHALLENGE

You have SACS open every single day.

You follow whatever your senior tells you step by step. You update load cases. You tweak member properties. You run the analysis when someone sets it up for you.

But the moment your senior is not there, or something goes differently from what you have seen before, you are completely lost.

You have watched YouTube tutorials. You took notes and tried to replicate the steps. It worked until your project differed from the tutorial in any way. Then the knowledge collapsed entirely.

You have asked your seniors. They gave you quick answers that partially solved the immediate problem but explained nothing about the underlying principle. And you stopped asking because asking too often draws the wrong kind of attention.

You may have even paid for a course on Udemy. It covered the basics, showed a clean simplified model, and by the end you felt like you had learned something. Then you went back to your actual project and realised the gap was exactly as large as before.

This Masterclass exists because none of those worked.

The SACS Masterclass is not another collection of isolated tutorials. It is the complete analysis workflow, from model setup to final deliverable, taught the way a senior engineer would teach you if they had ten weeks, real project scenarios, and the patience to explain the reasoning behind every single step.

By the end, you will not just use SACS. You will think in SACS.

COURSE FORMAT

  • Mode: Online (Microsoft Teams)
  • Schedule: Every Saturday & Sunday
  • Start Date: March 7, 2026
  • Time: 8:30 PM – 10:30 PM IST
  • Duration: 10 weeks (20 sessions)
  • Who this is for: Offshore structural engineers with 1-4 years of experience who can operate SACS but cannot independently deliver a full analysis from start to finish

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This Masterclass is built for you if:

  • You have SACS open every day but you cannot walk through a complete analysis on your own
  • Your senior is your safety net, and you know exactly what gets exposed when he goes on leave
  • You have said "okay sir" to a model comment you did not actually understand, more times than you can count
  • You passed the HR round of an interview but could not answer the SACS technical questions with confidence
  • You have 2-4 years of experience but still feel like a fresher when it comes to independent analysis
  • You know fragments of SACS but you have never seen or owned the full picture, from project scope to deliverable
  • You have tried YouTube videos, asked your seniors, or taken a generic course, and the gap is still exactly the same

If you read that list and thought "that is exactly me," this is the course that finally closes the gap.

WHY THIS MASTERCLASS IS DIFFERENT

You have tried tutorials. They taught you keystrokes, not engineering reasoning.

YouTube videos and generic courses show you what buttons to click. They do not show you why the analysis is structured the way it is, what code clause governs the check being run, or what a failing result means for the structural decision that follows.

You have asked seniors. Their knowledge was never structured into anything teachable.

Your seniors learned SACS over fifteen years of project work through experiential accumulation. When you ask a question, you get a quick answer that patches the immediate problem. You do not get the mental model that connects the pieces.

This Masterclass gives you the one thing that actually builds confidence: one complete experience.

Not ten topics covered shallowly. Not isolated steps from disconnected tutorials. One full project workflow, covered deeply, with the engineering reasoning explained at every step.

You will build models from scratch. You will apply real loading conditions. You will run analyses, interpret results against the relevant codes, and produce technically defensible deliverables. The way it is done on real projects.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN (Full Curriculum)

Foundations and Modelling

Introduction to Offshore Structures and SACS Overview

  • Offshore and subsea structure types, project lifecycle, and where SACS fits
  • SACS software capabilities, program architecture, and interface navigation

Modelling in SACS (Subsea Mudmat Structures)

  • Joint modelling, joint fixity, and joint design parameters
  • Member modelling, releases, properties, groups, and offsets
  • Plate modelling and gap element creation
  • Complete modelling of a real subsea mudmat structure from scratch

Loading, Analysis, and Post-Processing

Load Application and Static Analysis

  • General loading types and environmental loading fundamentals
  • Boundary conditions, load combinations, and allowable stress factors
  • Unity checks: what they mean, what drives them, and how to interpret them

Post-Processing and Deliverables

  • Output listing, 3D result viewing, and member review
  • Redesign workflows and data extraction
  • Report preparation: the format your client and certifying authority expect

Global Analysis (Subsea Structures)

Complete Global Analysis of Subsea Mudmat Structures

  • Lifting analysis (normal, skew, skew with COG shift, recovery)
  • Transportation analysis without TOW module
  • In-place analysis
  • Full workflow from load definition to results interpretation to deliverable

Jacket Structures (Full Modelling and Analysis)

Modelling and Analysing Offshore Jacket Structures

  • Modelling jacket using Structural Wizard
  • Deck geometry modelling
  • Load application using LOAD and WEIGHT features
  • Setting up the analysis file, running static analysis, and post-processing results

Joint Can Analysis

  • Joint can parameters and file preparation
  • Result interpretation and engineering judgment

Pre-Service Analysis (The Interview Questions)

The analyses technical interviewers actually ask you to walk through:

  • Lifting analysis
  • Loadout analysis
  • Transportation analysis with TOW module (Noble Denton guidelines, motion criteria, seafastening checks)
  • Launching, floatation, and upending

Advanced Analysis

Static Analysis with Pile-Soil Interaction (PSI)

  • Understanding soil curves (T-Z, Q-Z, P-Y) and what they mean for the structure
  • PSI input file creation: soil and pile definition
  • Running pseudo-static analysis with PSI and interpreting results

Dynamic Analysis

  • Foundation linearisation, load case selection, pile head super elements
  • Modal analysis: mode shapes, mode mass, and mass participation factor
  • Retained DOF, dynamic mass, and what each parameter actually controls

Fatigue, Seismic, and Accidental Loads

Fatigue Analysis

  • Spectral vs deterministic methods: when to use which and why
  • Performing both deterministic and spectral fatigue analysis
  • Fatigue result interpretation and what drives remaining life

Seismic Analysis

  • Foundation linearisation, dynamic characteristics, response spectrum
  • Equivalent static load approach, load direction selection
  • Seismic and static combination, analysis with PSI
  • Member code checks and joint can code checks

Accidental Load Analysis

  • Dropped object analysis: dynamic characteristics and response
  • Boat impact analysis: progressive loading, ship impact simulation
  • Pushover analysis

WHAT CHANGES AFTER THIS MASTERCLASS

Before (where you are now):

  • You follow your senior's instructions step by step
  • You fix model comments without understanding the underlying code clause
  • You give half-answers in technical discussions and hope nobody probes deeper
  • You hesitate to apply for roles that say "hands-on SACS experience required"
  • You have fragments of knowledge with no framework connecting them

After (where you will be in 10 weeks):

  • You open a project scope and build the analysis plan yourself
  • You interpret results against the relevant code and explain why, not just what
  • You speak in technical reviews with actual conviction
  • You walk through a complete SACS workflow in a technical interview without freezing
  • You become the engineer others come to when there is a SACS problem

This is the difference between being the technical resource and being the technical burden. Ten weeks from now, you choose which one you are.

Instructions

HOW TO SUCCEED IN THIS MASTERCLASS

1. Block your weekends. Sessions run Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM IST. Treat this like a project deadline, not optional study time. Ten weeks of focused commitment is what separates you from the engineers who spend years "figuring it out slowly."

2. Do the assignments. Every single one. Each week you will receive practical assignments that mirror real project deliverables. This is where the learning actually happens. Not in watching. In doing. Submit on time to get feedback and access the next module.

3. Ask the questions you have been afraid to ask at work. This is the one place where asking "why does this fail the code check?" is not a career risk. The entire Masterclass is designed to answer the questions your seniors never had time or structure to explain properly.

4. Use the community. Join the TOE Academy group. Share your progress. Ask for help when you get stuck. The engineers in this group are in the same position you are. You will learn faster together than alone.

5. Come with SACS ready. Ensure your software setup is working before Week 1. Training materials and access details will be shared in advance so you can start from Day 1 without delays.
