Johan de Meyer: Creative Immersion Life Coach | Storytelling Guide | Pottery as Process
Johan de Meyer is a creative immersion life coach who helps people reconnect with purpose and navigate life transitions through the grounding practices of pottery, storytelling, and deep listening.
As a journalist in the 1990s, Johan learned that asking the right questions has the power to unlock the stories people don't often tell. That insight became the foundation of his coaching philosophy: when people are met with curiosity and care, they open up, reflect deeply, and begin to see their lives differently.
Since then, Johan has dedicated over 20 years to coaching and mentoring—from disenfranchised youth to grassroots township entrepreneurs; MBA students to social innovators —guiding them to define their challenges, solve problems, and reconnect with a sense of possibility. He believes that questions put us on a quest—a journey into transition and transformation.
Trained in applied theology and journalism, he offers a unique narrative-driven approach—helping clients shape their lives as they shape their clay or share their stories in a safe environment.
Johan’s custom designed holistic studio experiences where each pinch, pull, and prose moment becomes a doorway into deeper self-awareness and collective connection. His bespoke retreats and workshops offer immersive spaces—fuelled by story circles, reflective journaling, and community-centred arts—to help emboldened individuals carve out new pathways forward.
With warmth, humour, and a keen ear for the unspoken, he creates safe, catalytic environments where you can cast aside what's no longer serving and build what matters most.
