Since a long time the children in Israel and the surrounding regions have been dealing with war, sirens and bombs coming from all directions. A lot of scared parents including myself have been trying our level best to control our own emotions and to put up a brave face i front of the kids while picking them up and running towards a shelter/bunker/safe room.
During one of such siren episodes I started telling my daughter stories about the adventures she will have with her best friend and that seemed to really calm her down.
These are children(toddlers) who have been born in war and have been continuously hearing and feeling the tension around them. In the times when they should be enjoying there childhood carefree they have to be subject to the knowledge of war, bombs, siren and bunkers.
This story is my small effort to all of our children who have been scared and brave at the same time and show immense courage in the face of uncertainty and fear.
My hope is that this story becomes a part of all the children's routine so that they find courage like Gaaya and Mia.
