Pull Your Credit Reports and Review

Identify inaccurate or suspicious items on your credit report including unknown accounts, incorrect balances, old collections, and wrong personal details. Check every section for errors, including:
-Accounts you don’t recognize
-Late payments you know were paid on time
-Incorrect balances or credit limits
-Old collections that should no longer be reporting
-Incorrect personal information (name, address, employer)

-Send one letter per bureau reporting the error
-Upload this letter directly on the bureau’s dispute portal or mail it certified

-Bring any past-due accounts current
-Pay down balances (aim to use less than 30% of your limit)
