Hi, I’m Howard.

In 2020, my world turned upside down. My wife passed away unexpectedly, and I suddenly became a solo father to five kids between the ages of 2 and 11 — one of them living with Type 1 Diabetes.

I’ll never forget standing in that hospital corridor right after the doctor gave me the news. It felt like every door in front of me slammed shut. No map. No direction. No idea how I’d carry on.

Then, just days after the funeral, COVID-19 hit. The world shut down. Strangely, it was a blessing — I could focus entirely on my kids without outside pressures. But when life reopened, reality came crashing back.

The sympathies faded. Work didn’t slow down. If anything, I felt I had to prove I could keep up — maybe even outwork everyone else. Eventually I cut down to a four-day week, then left my company altogether, with no clear plan. The only thing I knew: my kids needed me fully present.

Since then, I’ve taken on freelance projects, completed a coaching course, and discovered the power of habits and “small wins.” Those lessons helped me rebuild energy, confidence, and even purpose.

That’s why I started Milestone Moments for Dads. This isn’t about theory — it’s about practical, doable steps that help single dads move from stuck to steady momentum, one small win at a time.
