❓ FAQs (10)
1) How fit do I need to be for this? 💪
This is all-abilities friendly with a steady pace. There are a few climbs (nothing technical), and we’ll take breaks when needed. If you can walk for a few hours with stops, you’ll be grand ✅
2) Is it a challenging hike? 🥵
It’s a proper hike (4 hours + hills), but not extreme. The main “challenge” is the distance and a couple of uphill bits. We’ll keep it social and manageable.
3) What should I wear? 👟🧥
✅ Comfortable walking shoes or boots (mud is likely in Feb)
✅ Layers (it can be chilly/windy on the ridge)
✅ Waterproof jacket just in case 🌧️
✅ Comfy socks (your feet will thank you)
4) What should I bring? 🎒
Water bottle 💧, snacks (think: banana/protein bar) 🍌, a small packed lunch if you want, and a portable charger if you’re a photo fiend 📸🔋
5) Are we stopping for food during the hike? 🍫
We’ll do a couple of short breaks for snacks and views. The main food moment will be the pub stop after the hike 🍔🍻
6) Where’s the pub stop? 🍻
We’ll head to a local pub near the finish for a celebratory pint / soft drink and a bite before the train back. We’ll confirm the exact pub in the group chat on the day (based on timing + space).
7) What if I miss the 10:54am train? 🚆😅
Try not to! But if it happens, message the host ASAP. There are usually other trains, and we can coordinate a meet-up point if needed.
8) Can I bring a friend? 👯
Yes, as long as they’re part of the group/event RSVP process. We want everyone to feel safe, included, and accounted for 🫶
9) Is this hike dog-friendly? 🐶
Generally the area is great for dogs, but please only bring one if your dog is calm around groups and you’re happy keeping them on-lead when needed (especially around wildlife).
10) What if the weather is awful? 🌧️💨
We’ll keep an eye on the forecast. Light rain is fine with waterproofs, but if it’s dangerously windy/stormy we’ll make a call and update the group with a backup plan.
✅ Quick reminder
This is the first big hike of the year, so let’s bring good energy, look after each other, and finish with that “we earned this pint” glow 🍻✨
